Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Nick, im 16 goin on 17 this january. I moved to the Saratoga area from Southern Maine, and Ive been skiing for 3 years, this winter. I have been 8 times to Sunday River, up in Newry Maine. In those 8 trips Ive gone from hopeless idiot, to skiing Blacks, and, arguably the most challenging run at SR, White heat. Im looking forward to a good winter of skiing here in upstate New york. On my list is Gore, Westmountain, white face, and Killington. Its supposed to be a great winter! Lets see some of that fresh powder! Very Happy

You're trapped in the 5th dimension and haven't even come to realize it yet

Welcome Rudi15, I think you'll find that these great mountains will teach you more than you thought was left to learn about skiing in the next 20 years.

All hail Ullr!!!

Obviously, Lbtchnlgs is tripping, or something.

Anyway, enjoy Gore and Whiteface this year! Both areas are witnessing some big expansions, so it'll be a great year at both!

Thats what im seeing on their websites. I have had great experiences at SR, so I hope they will measure up. Smile Hehe, Im just kidding. I know Whiteface and Gore are highly reviewed, and I cant wait to hit the lifts. It was chilly this morning. Hopefully its a sign of good things to come. Time to buy a snowblower, and dust off the winter gear. Anyone know what brand of gear whiteface and gore rent? SR had Rossignol, and I dont know what they have up here. Mom says I shouldnt buy skiis till I stop growing, since they are rather expensive. I look forward to seeing yall on the trails!

If you live in Saratoga you should come up to West Mt. to the ski sale put on by the ski club. Check out the used but not abused equipment. It's near the end of October or early November. You could call Inside Edge Ski Shop 793-7756 and get the exact date. I get really nice skis there every other year or so, I think the skis I have right now are the 4th pair I have gotten there over ther last ten years or so. Really nice Fishers with Marker bindings cost $180.00 2 years ago. I've gotten teley skis for $75 and regular old but nice wooden cross country skis for $20. They have boots and snowboards too. You should look into that as an alternative to renting. Have fun with the skiing. Peter
