Flying into Albany Thursday afternoon, will (hopefully) be taking 87 up to 73 into LP. Hopefully, the airport will be cleared out by then unless the brunt of the storm is delayed, supposed to clear out by early Thurs. am; at least that's what I'm reading. If that forecast holds, is 73 generally well plowed so we can get into town?

Roads are maintained exceptionally well up here. WF /LP is only 30 minutes off of the 4 lane state highway 87. Route 73 is a major route into the ADK's so it will be great!!

87 is closed both ways between exit 28 and 33.
soo....be careful out there. I know they do a good job on the roads but 30+ inches and wicked winds will make some of the roads pure nasty.

it's not too hard to be careful when the road is closed...hope they'll reopen it on Friday 'cause i'm going ...

I'm heading back into town. Wasn't there for the storm. As per my wife I'll have several hours of plowing to do when I get there. Here is a website that I found for travel info. It seems to be very good. 73 is closed in both directions now but you can get in through Wilmington/ 9N. Cascade pass is very bad with white out conditions in storms like this. Hope this helps.

Wilmington town center to Whiteface was gorgeous. Bravo and nice job to the road crews. I don't know how they did it!

Good to hear, it took me 2 and a half hours each way yesterday, basically an hour more than it usually does to the Face. Driving was rediculously hard even in my gf's subaru.

They finally opened it last night or this morning. needs a good day of people driving on it. still major wind squalls and snow drifts through it. i wouldnt drive it without 4-wheel drive!
