New mogul skiing forum

BushMogulMaster is an active SkiMRV poster and he set up this forum for discussing bump skiing:

Check it out, register and start some threads to help him get it off the ground.

I can understand someone's desire to create a discussion forum with his favorite Mogul Skiing as main theme. Unfortunately, new forum is too specific and redundant for someone who already participates in AlpineZone and SkiADK/SkiMRV. We can discuss mogul skiing in a AlpineZone thread, even ask admin to open a new Folder if required.

Don't know that I agree. There are a number of skiing forums out there. Regional niche sites like SkiADK, SkiMRV and AZ have done well. Why not a forum specific to one type of skiing?

I like it too, but for a different reason. I like skiing bumps and this forum seems to be a good place to pick up tips for improving technique. Also, it's nice to be able to talk to people who have like interests no matter what they may be.

He skis tele so bumps are a different deal. He is very good at what he does.

I'm not saying they don't or that FHW doesn't, I'm just saying the technique is very different. I can't even imagine skiing a bump run without my heels locked down.

tele skiing is harder than alpine, yes. but, once you become a decent tele skier the bumps are easier to ski because you are forced to move up and down naturally in a tele turn. on alpine gear its much easier to become lazy and not compress and absorb the bumps thus you lose edge control and you're on your tails. it is the biggest mistake i see all the time w/ people in the bumps. watch a pro and their knees bounce off their chest as the fly down the hill. again, tele you're in that position if you're making a good tele turn. so, technically i guess your right hdp...its probably not easier as tele skiing is more difficult.

lets take a good alpine skier and an equally good tele skier...same guy. i would say that the learning curve would be quicker for him on tele's than on alpine when it came time to rip the bumps.

now don't misunderstand my example either. a great alpine bump skier will out ski a great tele bump skier any day when it comes to speed, air, etc.

Nah. HPD and JTR are good people. And they love bumps so they're cool too...

Yeah, flash frozen bumps...should be fun. :evil: Mass northward is slated to pick up 6"+ Thursday into Friday. Hopefully the southern ADKs can grab some of that...
