Just got back from our first trip to WFM!! Conditions were great for April! Wife was shaky at first but all in all had a good time. They didn't open the Bear lift till the last day so she had to endure Easy Street and Boreen which are a bit long for a true newb.
I finally got the nerve to ride the gondola (by myself of course), and made my way for Excelsior. A nice ride, but I turned wrong and ended up takin' John's Bypass to Connector, to L. Cloudspin which was VERY steep for me. But no Falls!!
Can't wait to go back. Gonna try for an Okemo excursion Saturday.

Thanks for the pictures! Can't believe that's April at Whiteface. Looks great. Seems like you had the mountain all to yourself.

Yeah, I'm not real happy with how that went down. Don't get me wrong, nice room just a lack of info from the advertisement stage through execution of service: The Ski and Stay is not at all clear. I knew we would arrive Sunday and couldn't ski till Monday, but was unaware we would get a ticket for Wednesday as well (paid for Sunday). Next you can go al a carte if you want, meaning, if you don't pick up all your passes at once, and don't ski every day the rate drops to a normal stay rate of $99 (which I was originally quoted at $119). If we had grabbed Wednesday to ski, it would be tough as checkout is 11 am so you would have no place to stop back and shower etc. Lastly, we were never told we had breakfast included and I mean REAL breakfast, not just the continental crap. We discovered this out of laziness one morning and stopping in. Oh well the skiing made up for it all!

Monday was real lax. No ticket scanning, not a lot of activity till noonish, but also not so many lifts running. Tuesday picked up but was hardly what I would imagine a mid winter weekend being like. I got a chance to listen to some staffers discussing the upcoming proposal to expand terrain etc. This seems like it will be a done deal despite some negativity from other staffers. I have a relative involved with portions of the surveying that will take place over the summer. The whole project is slated at two years. Hope it happens!

All in all the skiing was great especially at little WFM and I imagine at top mtn as well. just like mid winter minus some of the chill. After today, looks like this last weekend should be the nuts!!

Thankfully you have many other choices the next time to come up!
