Here's an update on our off-season projects:

--Learning Center (LC) project, now underway at Gore, is a top priority.
It's utilizing the old gondola barn at the base of the mt. the plan is to
have the LC open by thanksgiving. This will increase the square footage and
accommodate more families. The economic impact of this addition over the
long run will be significant. Ski school desk has been removed from the base
lodge, thus creating more dining space in the form of 6 more tables. The ski
school will be located in the LC.

--gore is also focusing on snowmaking..adding 3 more pumps and 6 new
compressors with a theme of energy savings.

--gore ski bowl: preparing for soft opening. Foundation is about to be
poured for the little lift.

--new burnt ridge section at gore: Adirondack Park Agency and Dept of
Environmental Conservation are reviewing the storm water plan..expecting
approval. Beyond that, mt manager mike pratt reports that the plan is to cut
the lift line and 2 trails this year.

--Whiteface / Lookout mt project: the LA Group is submitting the storm water
plan to the DEC soon. 70% of the trails have been flagged.

--whiteface: new compressors and transformers are en route

Other venue work is also being done:

--sports complex: men's luge start will be re-built. Demolition to begin
shortly. The new start will begin closer to the bobsled start and provide a
better entry into curve 1.

--jumping complex: new artificial surface has been placed on the 18 meter
hill

--lake placid conference center: abatement to begin in Sept.

--cross country skiing: trail enhancements and widening to continue this
summer

Early in the new summer season, business is up at the bobsled ride and
whiteface memorial highway.
