Irony is a wonderful thing, ain't it?
A little over a week ago I was worried about having to cancel because of some light rain last weekend...
Now I see the Weather Channel has a winter storm warning posted for tomorrow morning through Wednesady AM. Due to arrive in ALB around 3:00 tomorrow- is the report correct of 6"-10" of snow tomorrow and winds gusting to 35 mph correct? Great day to be traveling
Well, we wanted snow; guess we're gonna get it

Horrible might be a bit pessimistic, but it won't be the kind of weather we'd like to see in January. Amazing the temperature swings you can get. A forecast high of 4 degrees tomorrow.....with highs of 40+ early next week. Fortunately it looks like the window of 40 degree temps will be limited to three days and it doesn't look like they will include any heavy rain. That's not the worst January thaw we've ever seen, so it could be worse. On the bright side, after next Wednesday it looks like temps will drop to seasonable levels, with a deep freeze returning around the middle of the month.

Looking a little more like the pessimistic view may have been in order. You were right. Temps pushing past the 50's, with some real rain on tap Tues night into Wed, that on top of on and off showers throughout the early part of the week. That is pretty horrible, and will contribute to some rapid snow melt. On the bright side, still looks like after Wednesday temps do drop off and there looks to be plenty of opportunities for snow throughout the rest of the 10/15 day forecast. So hopefully this quick (but severe) hit won't hurt too much.

So how's the base is going to hold up guys? It's been nice seeing the whole mountain open in early January. How much of that are we going to lose before things start to recover toward the end of the week?

Like you say Wed. is not looking good, but temps get back to normal after that. I think the base will hold up fine, they've made a ton of snow and gotten way above average for natural. It's been a great season so far, we just have to roll with this punch from Mother Nature and come fighting back.
