Gore has been saying for a few years that they've got skiing on 3 mountains. Now with the addition of Burnt Ridge they are counting four mountains. In the link below they even say "four unique peaks."

OK. I know it's marketing. But looking at a topo, and being as generous as I can be...I see Gore, Bear and Burnt Ridge. 1,2,3.

Are they counting the Topridge side and the front side as separate mountains? Is the Dark Side a separate mountain?

How do they figure that?

Maybe they're counting the Hill that the J-Bar goes up . . .

Or The Ski Bowl?

Hmmm....stole this from a post on the WF side:

The following is from Article XIV of the New York State Constitution:

... Nothing herein contained shall prevent the state from ... nor from constructing and maintaining .... not more than forty miles of ski trails thirty to two hundred feet wide, together with appurtenances thereto, provided that no more than eight miles of such trails shall be in excess of one hundred twenty feet wide, on the slopes of Gore and Pete Gay mountains in Warren county ...

Lots of legal BS but maybe they are counting Pete Gay as another mountain. Looking at the topo I don't buy it. I don't see any trails on Pete.

Pete Gay and South Mt were both in the original expansion that was approved in the '70's.
