Whiteface fired up the snow guns Monday on the Excelsior, Upper Valley,
Lower Valley and Summit Express trails. The Wilmington, N.Y., resort plans
on opening Friday, November 28 for the 2008-09 season. This year mark's the
debut of Lookout Mountain, Whiteface's third peak. Lookout Mountain boasts
three new trails - one intermediate and two expert - all serviced by a
fixed-grip triple chair. The home of the East's greatest vertical drop now
features 80 trails for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities. Early
season daily lift ticket rates of $55 for adults, $45 for teens/seniors and
$32 for juniors will be in effect until mid-December.
