Here is Mike's response to my email today.
Eric,
We are excited about this Winter and will have many changes to show off.
We are going to have some Premier Paid Parking Spaces, but we will have many free parking spaces. We have also bought more shuttle busses, built more parking lots, are ready to open Burnt Ridge, and have remodeled the lower level of the lodge.
So, please don't worry, your mountain is ready and we will open soon,

Looks like paid parking is more then a rumor. I sure hope the reconsider. I already get up at 5:00 am to try and get a good parking spot.( it takes me 3 hours to get to the mountain)
