Hi, we are making a trip up to Whiteface to ski Monday and Tuesday this coming week, we haven'been in probably 5 years, we use to come yearly.

How are the conditions going to hold up with this Saturday warmup we are seeing followed by a cool down sunday and cold conditions Sunday night? Hoping the Sun they are calling for and mid 20's on Monday will soften things back up enough??

Looking forward to the new Lookout Mountain!

If there's one thing they do very well at Whiteface it's knowing how to groom after one of these warm up/ freeze over situations.

They can till the moisture out of that hard pack in one evening.

BTW, the snowmakers were out, and about at 2:00, and told me they planned on pounding the joint.

Just got back into Toronto from 2 days of skiing/boarding at the Face.

Monday - Blue skies, weather was great, snow was great, got icy in the late afternoon, but other than that, no complaints

Today - Snow was great, lost the Blue skies, but had a nice temperature inversion, got warmer the higher you went, it had to be 10 degrees warmer at the Summit opposed to at the bottom of the gondola. Was really noticeable as you skied down the wilmington trail.
NPN - You are dead on about whiteface grooming! We took out last run at 330 Monday, and it was ICE everywhere! It was a cold night Monday night, wasn't sure what to expect tuesday morning, but the groomers had the mountain in tip top shape, we were very impressed with their work

No lift lines anywhere to speak of either day, Skyward was groomed top to bottom today and skied great, they pounded Mountain Run and Lower cloud on Monday with snowmakin, and left them ungroomed for Tuesday

Lookout Mountain -- Thoroughly enjoyed the newest addition to Whiteface! Wilmington trail had a bit of everything, and we hit it more in the two days than any other trail on the mountain. Some nice flats, a few steeper pitches, sweet views all the way down, overall just a fantastic trail

Overall, a great trip to the face, lucked out with weather, conditions were pretty good, and can't wait to make it back some day soon
