lol. well back to the vid. despite the long skis, the mere slope they descended, the smallish packed snow part and the stumbling around...........it was a cool video. they were having fun!

i noticed how they were skiing with their ankles vitually touching each other. i read about a champion skier back in the day who skied that way and people imitated his style. alot of ski posters from back then show this posture.

the Lake Placid Club, back in the day, was founded by Melvil Dewey of the Dewey Decimal sytem fame. on top of being a noted anti-semite, he advocated a more phonetic way of spelling words he was the originator of the "Loj" in the ADK's Adirondack Loj property. bet you wondered why it was spelled that way.

he also was a promoter of winter sports in Placid and was active in arranging 1932 Winter Olympics there.

he also was quite a dog who used to openly grope and sexually harass alot of the women libriarians in his employment.

look that up in your Funk and Wagnel!!!

I also enjoyed that blast from the past, but, mainly because I crack up when I remember my "boot on boot" days.

HBO threw "Downhill Racer" into the mix late Spring/early Summer, and it so hit home how the technology in our sport has come so far so fast.

Imagine trying to throw your tasty shaped dogs boot side.

Ouch!
