Hi folks. We're going skiing at WhiteFace in mid-March.. Don't have a clue where to stay that is either on or close
to the mountain. Can anyone give me an idea on where's a good place to stay ? Family of 4, looking for a condo,
or chalet rental that has kitchen etc. Let me know, what you know.. and thanks !

I go up most weekend and am cost conscious as it gets pretty expensive. I stay in Jay at a place called the brookside. It has two bedroom efficiencies for less 70 bucks per night. The place is right out of the 70's but it is clean and the waterpressure is strong. Brrookside is about 15 minutes from the hill and right on the way. There is nothing to do in Jay. If you are looking fr a night life someone else will be able to provde a better spot.

For a family best lodging choice is to rent a house. Check out http://www.adkbyowner.com/lakeplacidrent.html and call owners directly. Thru the last 4 years I've stayed in "Alpenglo" http://www.adkbyowner.com/5080.html many times, last holiday week is was already booked, so we've stayed in "Jay Farmhouse" http://www.adkbyowner.com/5094.html. Both are around 8-10 miles from the mountain, if you want to stay close - check houses in Wilmington.
