i had first tracks on twister, pine brook glades (well i took the low end while another guy took the high), and under the straightbrook. claim. then ripped sagamore until closing. best skiing ive ever experienced at gore.

Denison.... an innovative idea. Low out-of-pocket and high potential value. But a couple of problems with it. First there's this misconception out there that I'm an expert on the map of Gore tree runs. I've been a few places. But mostly I've been dragged around by experts while I'm desperately trying to keep up. Half of these runs I couldn't find again. I'd bet most of the regulars on this board - lurkers and posters - know more a lot more than I do.

PLUS...and this is the key...I said I was looking for a LOW COST solution. The ultimate cost of this solution....it's just too high.

I think the north chair would have actually been running the weekend of the 20th. It was running the weekend prior to that after the early december storm (9-11?). I remember because they dropped the ropes on tawahus and sleeping bear early on Saturday morning and it had been untouched. I don't think there would have been that much snow in the trees that early, but I'll say Chatiemac glades early december storm - just to be different.

I don't get in the glades much either unless it is right after a dump. I don't have enough control for the rutted out stuff.

That last picture isn't loading for me, but I definitely remember the day. I was "grounded" because I took my moms car to gore the weekend before (she took mine to Long island, fair is fair, right? :? )
I told her I had to go skiing because there was a competition that day and it was my obligation to Sports Page to compete. Although I did spend most of the day competing, the few turns I did make might have been the best ones of the year. I remember we poached Lower Steilhang and the Darkside Glades. SO epic.

It wasn't skiable yet. We walked just about the entire way, in and out, and my hamstring still isn't happy about it. We just wanted to see what was happening up there.

It did look like the underbrush was cut recently. Looks like it should be awesome later in the year! How's the walk out in pow?
