I found a single tele ski last night stuck in the netting in the terrain park at around 4:15. If it's any of yours shoot me a pm.

I'm off to Tahoe!

EDIT
Since the tele ski issue has somewhat been resolved, I'll turn this into my Tahoe TR.
Can't get pictures on the computer out here, so I'll edit it when I get home.

The only camera I ski with is my cell phone, quality isn't the greatest. Plus my card reader is at home, so I can't upload pictures to the computer from that. I can get some much lower res ones offline though. I took some from the lift and cable car at Squaw yesterday though. Honestly until about 1 in the afternoon, skiing back home was better than out here.

In the morning it was cold, windy, and visibility of about 150 yards. At some times it was down to maybe 10. Not a whole lot was groomed, and the lighting was flat so you could not see any of the rock hard moguls. It was really icy all over the mountain. I felt bad for my dad because he isn't a strong skier, and wasn't having fun at all. Only about 1/2 the lifts were open.

The guy driving the cable car had to stop it before one of the towers because it was so windy. He said it was the 3rd time in 6 years he's had to do that. The Shirley Lake lift stopped because it was swinging so much. A guy on a snowmobile came cruising down one of the trails and climbed up the ladder on the tower right in front of us. He looked at all the sensors, flipped one back, and climbed right back down. Must have been pretty scary up there with no harness and in 40+ MPH winds.

At around 1 nothing really changed except it started puking snow. Most of the snow was blown right away from the mountain anyways, but the Shirley Lake side of the mountain is in a valley so it was catching a lot of the snow. We skied that for the better part of the day. Snow filled in the troughs of some of the moguls and lined the tree lines.

*Edit. Damn, pictures aren't working.

Yesterday (3/9/10).
We left Squaw two days ago and headed to the condo we rented for the rest of the week at Northstar. It's a ski in condo, but not ski out. Real nicely furnished upstairs.

Woke up and caught the bus to the mountain at around 8:30. Took us a while to figure out the mountain and where to leave our stuff because the main base area is a resort. We hopped in the gondola and left everything up at the lodge a the top of that.

Blue bird skies right off the bat. About 2 inches of fresh snow all over the mountain, but a layer of pretty hard crust under it. We went exploring and tried to ski as much of the mountain as possible. My dad took off and skied alone for a bit so we wouldn't have to wait for him and we skied a lot more of the blacks and bump runs.

My brothers and I met up with some guy from the Bay area who must have been at least 70, and he was killing it. We took a few runs with him and skied some terrain that he wasn't quite comfortable on. Managed to find some snow that didn't get crusted over from the previous few days, some spots about a foot deep.

Checked out another peak that we hadn't skied yet. It was sort of a pain to get to, and the snow wasn't great. Actually by our second run it was really firm, my skis wouldn't even hold an edge. We went up and my oldest brother took a blue down with my dad and my other brother and I skied one more run on that peak. It was a lot like Rumor from the goat path down, only about the length of Wild Air. Decent bumps but not worth our time staying in. Headed back over to the main face of the mountain, met up with everyone, and called it a day. We found out how to ski to our condo, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. We got here about 10 minutes before my dad who took the bus.

Today (3/10/10)
The morning started off nice, but real crappy. I went to grab my video camera, but I couldn't find it. Searched the whole condo inside out to no avail. I think I left it at Squaw on Monday. We called lost and found but they had nothing. Out $650. BUT there was about 6 inches of fresh, ridiculously fluffy snow on the ground.

We caught the 8:30 bus again and headed up the hill. About 8 inches up at the main base area and probably 10 by the time we got to the top. We took a few family runs together, then sent my dad down some blues and we did either trees or blacks and met up with him at the bottom of the lift. He was getting tired so he went down to the main base lodge

My brothers and I headed over to the back side and it was AWESOME. First run down we took some glades that only had a few tracks down them, pretty much epic. Under the lift there was a bump run about the length of Topridge and a consistent pitch a little steeper than lower Hawkeye. It only had a few tracks down it so we took that down. It was a real thigh burner, even moreso than yesterday. Went and skied over a bit farther and got some more fresh tracks. Even up to our last run at 3:45 we found some freshies on the way down.

I experimented with more of the go with the flow vibe and let the mountain take me where ever and went places where I hadn't skied yet. I skied down alone most of the time and met up with my brothers at the bottom of the lift. I skied a lot of completely untracked stuff but when I went to show my brothers where it was but I couldn't find it again.

Ripped down the backside a few more times until my legs went on strike, and we called it a day. Skied down to the base, sat in front of the fire a bit, and skied home. Cooked up some burgers, started up the fire, threw one back and called it a night.

3/11/10 - Alpine Meadows

Well to start, I found my camera! It was sitting in the rental car. I think the floor ate it for the hour I looked in there for it, and then regurgitated it back up when I went back inside.
It started off around 32° when we got there at about 9:30. Kept getting warmer and warmer and it reached about 42°. My dad stayed home to rest, which was probably good because Alpine definitely had some of the gnarliest terrain I skied. In the sun it was heavy powder and corn, in the shade it was nice and soft snow from the dump 2 days prior. Skied all over the mountain, it was a lot of fun. Basically everything was a bowl or chutes out there. Bluebird day and we all got some awesome goggle tans between the 3 bluebird days. I don't have a whole lot of time to write this up, I have a few tests to fail tomorrow that I need to study for. Weds at Northstar had lighter snow that we found untracked in all day long, but I think I had more fun at Alpine just because it was the steepest stuff I've ever skied plus good snow equals a real good time.

3/12/10 - Northstar

My oldest brother, Eric, and my dad went to ski Northstar in the morning, and then Jay and I skied the afternoon. We got up there, took one run and it was pretty much miserable. Raining at the base lodge, and snow coming down up top that melted instantly when it touched you. Skied right back down to the condo (my dad was pretty pissed. Oops...). By the time we got to the bottom of the run, it was snowing down at the condo, and pretty hard. It was still real we though. Went and drove around Truckee for a bit, got some steaks and called it a day.

3/13/10 - Airport

My birthday! Cigarettes, scratch off tickets, and porn. What more do you need in life? (Sarcasm meter, 9.8). Woke up at about 5, packed all my stuff, shoveled the path to the car and got ready. Ate breakfast, loaded up the car and got outta there at about 7:10. Unfortunately, Squaw got about 18 inches of fresh snow and it was bluebird out. Again. What a great day to leave (Sarcasm meter, 9.3). Flight from Reno to Las Vegas was smooth, but we had a 2 hour layover. Not ideal. Another 25 mins of sitting on the runway and a lot of turbulence cause for not such a nice ride. Finally touched down at 9:05.

Pictures are all on a memory card at my dad's house. I had a whole bunch of good ones on my cell phone, but for some reason on the flight home my card decided to wipe itself clear. Needless to say I was pretty pissed.
