It's still summer, but have any of you weather specialists heard anything about winter trends for the Northeast yet?

According to the latest Bridget (e-mail) Blast from WF:

"Some good news moving into the 2010-11 Winter Season ......has anyone noticed that there have been a lot of spiders lately? Well I have and it means it is going to be a long hard winter!"

I'm no expert, but she could have something here. :D

Our weather guy doesn't start until Nov 1. If you can believe that. I'm thinking about cutting his pay.

This year is a La Nina - which should range between mediocre to good, depend on how strong it is.

If you buy into the long term forecasting (http://www.nyskiblog.com/2010/10/national-weather-service-t2m-winter.html), I'd say ski early and ski often!

Actually I thought that Lionel's FIS long term was excellent, good analysis with some optimism mixed in. :D
