this weekend is the 21-22. There is a gondola and you can drive up to the top of the mountain, but both are closed. We are well past peak fall colors and are in a transition to winter. We have already had snow on the mountain. people have skied down the toll road already. you can hike up the trails to the top of little whiteface though and there is a nice lookout. They are getting the mountain ready for ski season and plan to start snowmaking in a week, so everything is closed. for any weekend events, go to www.lakeplacid.com, www.orda.org or www.whiteface.com. Just missed a few weekends of some great fall events--Oktoberfest and Flaming Leaves.
