Here are the pic's for today. I picked up my pass and got a few shots. Going to try to go over tomorrow morning early and take the AT skis up to the top for a run. Oh well

Snowmakers have returned in earnest to Whiteface Mountain in this photo taken Wednesday morning. After the warm spell that hit the Adirondacks recently, snowmaking resumed last weekend in anticipation of Friday’s season opening. Skiers and boarders will find three intermediate trails from the top of Little Whiteface, the Cloudsplitter gondola and the Little Whiteface double chair awaiting them when the 2006-07 winter officially starts. The gondola will also welcome foot passengers for the scenic ride. Wondering about those skis and poles? They belong to Whiteface Assistant Manager Bruce McCulley, who snapped the shot.

Nice to see how far that one pole is stuck in the snowpack, and surprising to see so much white in the background on Skyward.

That dusting on skyward is nothing to write home about, itll take some serious snowmaking to get it open anytime soon.

No doubt, and, again, here's to those new 18" pipes to the summit, but I'd rather see that aesthetic dusting as I step off the gondola Friday a.m. then a brownout.

Sad does describe it. So does me not skiing tomorrow.

Here, here. I never thought in a million years I'd be this fired up to put edge to Excelsior!

Once again proving that depravation can be a massive motivator.

You guys are so spoiled. The longest run on my home mountain is 500 vertical feet. Excelsior to mid-station has been the extent of my ski season for the last 15yrs. Smile and suck it up! Your skiing! If I wasn't coming up there in 2 weeks I wouldn't make my first turns for at least another month.

P.S. Lucky Bastards!! :-)

It's not the Skyward, with dusting, but rather Riva Ridge looks like it's covered pretty well.
