I really enjoyed the linked article. I reside and work in Dutchess County so I'm only an hour from Hunter on any given day but I won't bother skiing there anymore. Forget skiing the Catskills. If you want to party and ski, go to Killington. Lift lines at Hunter and Windham are 20 - 25 minutes on a weekend.

Our lifestyle begs for the whole Adk experience so, after many years, we bought a "camp" in Wilmington: we get it all: fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking (on,off, and downhill), running, swimming, cliff jumping!... I'd be there full time if I could only find a job!!! The three hour drive each way is better than the three hours standing in lines for lousy, crowded runs. (Opening Day up there was GREAT FUN!!!)

Anyway, thanks for the forum. I check in to see what's happening on the hill.
