The truth is that Gore always opens with what is essentially 1 or 2 trails, regardless of how favorable snowmaking temperatures have been.

Wild Air will likely be open Thanksgiving weekend and it will be icy, crowded, rocky, and dangerous.

The best we can hope for is that Cloud and Hawkeye will be open by mid-December, which they usually are.

So stop your crying and wining because this is how it is every year. Don't get your hopes up for anything more becuase you will only be disappointed.

Sorry to sound negative, but as they say, "it is what it is."

If you want more trails, go to Vermont.

True. I am guilty of whining, and I see where you are coming from.

As for VT, I don't wanna, but you can get cheap gas there

That being said, you can still make a good day of it. (just don't be expecting to ski more than 2 trails).

Get there for first lift and ski until about 10:30 or until it gets too crowded. And then, because it won't likely bee too frigid, you can still get a nice long run (jogging that is, not ski run) in. So, good cross training.

Then enjoy a beer or three at the new bar in town.

Life could be far worse.

Bear and Gore look pretty white. Wonder what they will actually open this weekend?

Keep your fingers crossed that the r word won't hit this week. Unfortunately I won't be there for the opening. Hope to make it up in early December though.

I saw that on the website as well... It makes no sense- Ruby doesn't feed out to anywhere?

Lol take ruby to ski down to the adk triple, download from there then walk over to the gondi and take that back up.
