Rain and freezing rain all day today so far. Looks like rain mixed with snow right now with a temp of 34 below the mountain. The summit is in the fog and we all know what fog does to snow.

Big snowflakes falling now. My lawn is turning white again, but it's melting on the road. 34degrees and the summit is in the clouds. too bad Gore doesn't have a weather station on the summit and a web cam on their web site. Perhaps in another 100 years!

niiiiiiiiiccccccceeeee Very Happy

temps are suppose to be about 5 degrees cooler with each 1000' elevation gain so hopefully things are going well up top Twisted Evil

Thanks Kieth - that should be something up higher. Can't seem to get any idea from NWS if Gore will get any more today or this weekend. What's local radio saying?

There was certainly more at my house then in the lowlands of Chestertown so I would expect even more at elevation.

They were looking at like 3" at the base today of new snow and probably more like 6ish up top. they are calling for about 10" overnight, its too bad that they wont open again until friday now though. Trees were great today though. word on the street is that whiteface has the slides open as well.
