Soon enough the kids will be old enough to spend some time on their own in the Adirondacks. Maybe next summer.

Any advice on good camps?

I've heard that North Country Camps (Lincoln for boys, Whippoorwill for girls) might be a good one (http://www.nccamps.com/index.shtml).

Never attended myself, but grew up about a mile south of it on the same side of the lake, and have never heard anything but rave reviews.

My youngest is going back for his second year there. he really likes it. My oldest went there too.
