Ever since last week's snowfall (17") and the new snow that fell last night
on whiteface (5"), the outlook for pres week has really picked up.

Several hotels have told me that the change in weather led to constantly
ringing telephones. A few are already sold out for the holiday period.

We are bracing for beaucoup business at our venues. Whiteface will be very
busy as will our bobsled and luge rides for the public. Then, when you tack
on the impact of the Olympics, our venues will be very active. I just called
the verizon sports complex (bobsled and luge rides) and they have reported
that the phones are ringing steadily with inquiries about these rides.

At ORDA venues, we have placed large screen TVs and Olympic scoreboards in
the respective lodges/arenas to give visitors the feel of the Games. Between
the 4 NBC stations and CBC, we have coverage on all the time. Our theme all
winter has been: if you can't get to italy, get to lake placid.
