    Local news.

Could someone from the Placid/Wilmngton area please watch the local news tonight, and reply with a quick synopsis of projected snow totals, and timing for the storm?

    Thanks in advance!

6-12". (WPTZ-local NBC affiliate) We're right next to their line for 10-20" though. Stay tuned. Other mets put is in a better spot and WF's elevation will factor. This thing wiggles a little West and we're laughin'!

Same news outlet now puts us in the 10-20" zone. It wiggled West. Now let's cross our fingers and hope it verifies. Anyway you look at it though - it looks like we're gonna get hit. NWS says the snow could come down at the 2-3" an hour rate after midnight tonight.

We are expecting 4-8 inches starting around 9pm-ish in northern Essex County w/ another 12-18 inches by end of ski day Saturday. Heavy snow expected to fall after 11ish tonight into tomorrow morning.

    Leave now!

models showing storm coming more north and west.. local weather predicating sleet/rain to mix in southern NY, VT and NH. that means bigger snow totals for northern NY and northeast kingdom - big winners lookin like route 100 corridor north of the "mason dixison line" (points north of K-Mart )

Sure enough the day I leave the Face gets dumped on. Either way, it looks like Cannon should get the goods as well so its all good. This storm is shaping up to be quite nice, up until today I had only heard modest reports of 6-12. 18 sounds much much better.

Unfortunately, I didn't follow your advice and "leave now" ... I waited until around 1:00 to leave downstate. My normal 4 hour drive took 9 hours!!!

All I can say is: "The skiing better be good tomorrow!!!!"
