as far as mounting goes, if your skiing park more than half the time, you want center mount, or if you get a true twin like the volkl wall or line anthem. if you are just hitting the park every now and then but mainly ski all mt, then center mount isnt needed. lmk what you will be skiing and ill do my best to give a good idea of what kind of ski to get

hahaha its only the base of one ski, and a little in the detail on the topsheet.

as far as twins go. ill recommend what i think would be a decent all mt twin or a good true park ski. if you want a good all mountain ski that will rip anywhere, park, groomers, powder, crud, look at the volkl bridge. the name stands for what it does, it bridges the gap between park and all mountain. it is a very still ski so groomer performance will be very good. the dimensions are 130-92-112 if in not mistaken so it does have a pretty good side cut. another great all mountain twin is the k2 extreme. its also a pretty stiff ski that will give good all mountain performance and willl hold really nice in all conditions. k2 made it more as there true park ski but i think the dimensions of it say all mountain. ive personally never skied it but i have seen a lot of ppl with it.

for an all park ski check out the salomon supect/dumont (both the same ski different top sheet). i personally have the suspects and i absolutly love them. they are also a stiff ski and give great pop. i dont ski the park all the time and on all mountain they still rip. there a super playful ski as well, you can do anything on them. another great park ski is the line anthem. it is a true twin, 119-93-119. it is much softer than the suspects. ive only taken one run on them when i switched gear with a friend who has them and they were better than i thought they were gunna be when it came to carving turns. i was also on a 171 when i usually ski a 161 so they were big, but still good.

really, any park ski can ski all mountain, but not every park skier can. id recommend demoing the skis before buying, or just checking them out in person and seeing how the feel, wiegh, and just what they look like. if you have anymore questions lmk.

i'm thinking of going with a mostly park ski to hopefully? give me every advantage possible while i learn. i'll rip my regular skis, then switch to the park skis for half a day. that's why i was wondering how much help a true center mount might be. rail balance, spinning, etc.

i was also wonder if symetricals help much when skiing switch or if they're lame-ish on the rest of the hill, from the park to bottom or from the gondi to park for when the triple's closed and fairveiw's the route.

those Salomons are two nice looking skis. i noticed Salomon is the only one to say they have an impact absorbing characteristic. how do yours do switch? do they true center mount?

backward falls can be some of the most damaging to knees. i noticed some park bindings have " backward release ", many don't. ever known that to be an issue?

if the economy stays the same, there maybe some deals coming up.

    i think i'm done now.
    thanks again.

wow. a brand new pair of flat Dumonts just sold for $255. + $40. shipping on ebay.

the skis you wanna get really depend on how much money you wanna spend, if youre going to be using them outside of park, and personal preference.
if your using them strictly for park skiing, then there are loads to chose from. stiffer skis are a little better for jumps, and much better for all mountain- assuming your a good all mountain skier, id suggest something on the stiffer side

as to symmetrical or asymmetrical skis- the skis im riding right now are symmetrical, the skis i had last year werent. honestly, i dont notice much of a difference, but last year i didnt ski switch much at all. thats whats its supposed to be best for. line invaders and anthems are both symmetrical, but their both pretty noodly. like connor previously stated, the walls are symmetrical and stiff. a good choice. also the fischer habits and addicts, but i dont really know where you could pick a pair of them up. the addicts are real stiff, and the habits are pretty stiff

also, a lot of twins are pretty fat. if you were thinking to get some pow sticks, this could be a good 2-in-1 ski. armada arv's are pretty wide- 94 underfoot i think, and good for park too, also on the soft side though. my skis, line octolands (same construction as the line anthem and spirals, but limited edition topsheets), are pretty fat (119-93-119), and symmetrical, so their a great option for park and pow.

as to where to mount them, it really depends on what skis you get. if you get a symmetrical ski, i think it would make sense to center mount them. for the most part, like connor said, if your going to be riding out of the park at all, i think it would be better to mount them a little further back- core center for a non-symmertrical ski. as long as your not wayyy far back on the tails, its not going to make a huge difference
    send it!

i can tell you this becuase i said i was gunna go the same thing where i had a park ski and all mountain ski and i just ended up skiing my twins everywhere. mounting center does give better balance in the air and on rails as far as i can tell. i have my skis mounted just a little bit back of center, but still not traditional, and the only time i really feel a difference in turning is after i get off slalom skis and go to my twins, i feel really forward, but still not the big of a deal. in my opinion, symetrical skis make minimal difference as far as skiing switch unless your good at it. im just learning and when i tried switch on the anthems vs my suspects i didnt notice a whole lot of difference. also i dont know what you mean by backward release, ive never heard of that. most park skiers crank their dins way past recommend just becuase some of the landing have a lit of force and pressure on the ski if you dont land center and you dont wanna ski falling off. as i said before, any park ski will ski all mountain fine, but not every park skier can ski all moutain. haha. if ted gets on aka fugative he can give you better answers. he has been skiing park longer than i have and is prolly one of the best park skiers at gore. he should be adding his words in Tminus 30 sec...
