TUPPER LAKE - State police are trying to track down the owner of a pair of downhill skis which were found on the side of the road outside Tupper Lake around 9:30 a.m. Monday. The skis, which police said are worth more than $1,000, were found near the intersection of state Route 30 and Old Wawbeek Road in the town of Tupper Lake. A single ski pole was also found. Police believe the ski equipment may have fallen off a vehicle. The owner of the equipment, who will have to be able to identify the skis, was asked to contact state police in Ray Brook at 897-2000.
