    Gore Expansion on hold

Yesterdays Albany Times Union contained an article indicating that the commisioner of DEC has put the expansion on hold while further reviews occur. See

Seems like their must be some politics behind this. The plan to develop the bottom of the North creek Ski bowl is hardly new.

If they are going to reconsider, and build trails at higher elevations, that might be a good thing.

But where? Unless they buy the quarry, there isn't much scope for expansion of high-elevation terrain at Gore besdies a few south-facing runs in the Top Ridge area. Given their unlimited water capacity for snowmaking, I don't see how it really matters.

I would like to see them spend the $$$ on other projects..... I did the ski tour to the NC Ski Bowl a couple of years ago..... pretty but not too exciting.
